Will is a 3rd year MRC-funded PhD student in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. His PhD aims to determine whether cash transfers help families to cope with the economic impact of severe illness, and in particular the infectious disease tuberculosis in Brazil. The PhD uses ecological, cross-sectional, and longitudinal data, and has explored the use of quasi-experimental methods for impact evaluation.
